Interview with Sister Mireille Simon
MCE had the great opportunity and pleasure to interview a powerful, yet a humble woman of God, Sister Mireille Simon. She’s being used mightily by God to speak empowering words to her audience across the country. Sister Mireille while presently working on her bachelor’s degree at Life Christian University is being called on by various Churches in the South Florida area to preach and teach the word of God.
As, Broro, met Sister Mireille at her Church’s office to conduct this interview, I began by asking her: At what age did you come to know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior?
SM Let me first say that I was called by the Lord when I was sixteen years old, however, I gave my life totally to Christ when I was twenty-two years old.
Broro Were you born in a Christian family?
SM No. My mother loved the Lord, but she was not saved.
Broro How long have you been in the ministry?
SM I have been in the ministry since 1986…eighteen years.
Broro What had inspired you to go in the ministry?
SM I wanted to know more about the Kingdom of God, there was a great desire in me to study the Word, I also knew that I had a call on my life and I was to put myself in a position to answer the calling of God. I wanted to help people discover who they really are in Christ.
Broro You mention the calling a few times, and I feel a strong emotion about that, can you elaborate on this calling?
SM I was sixteen years old when a lady named Sister Lucie Paul saw me; she immediately started to speak in other tongues; that scene was very strange, for I truly did not understand that language. After a while she said: “that’s the one, that’s the one I saw in my vision”. The more she was talking the more puzzled I became. She stood there talking to another Christian Lady telling her that she saw the Lord in a vision calling on a young person for the Island of Haiti. In the vision she said, “It’s just a child” and the Lord replied “that’s the one”. The lady came back to my house to meet my mother, Anne Celinise Michel, and asked her to bring me to a place called “La Montagne” [The Mountain], for a three days fasting but my mom refused. Please understand that I was born and raised in a Catholic family and the Full Gospel world was unknown to my mom and I. That experience marked my life and I knew that my life was not going to follow an ordinary track, even though I waited another seven years to answer the call.
Broro From observing the way you minister, I see that your approach is very much empowering; can you tell us how that came about; who or what had influenced you?
SM When I first started in the Ministry I was under the Leadership of Pastor Raphael Simon. He encouraged me to preach; he told me that I had a great calling in my life. I followed his advice; I prayed and my first Sermon was on the Twenty Third Psalm. I delivered that sermon in a prayer meeting. At the beginning it was not easy; seeing a woman preach was new in the community. I had to remain humble and seek the Lord in prayer, and on my knees I discovered the power of God. I began to read the Bible profusely and the more I read the Bible the more I understood the word. When I preach I am well aware of the fact that I am only an instrument appointed by God Almighty to deliver a word to His people.
Broro How long have you been in that level of ministering?
SM Preaching, the way I am preaching now, I would say for the last three years. When I started school at Life Christian University, I discovered the Word of Faith through my wonderful teachers, Dr. Daniel & Eve Gualtieri and Reverend Dennis Mc Cormick. I began to realize that I was the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus. The last three years have been very instrumental for where I am today. Through the Word of Faith messages I preach, the brethren are inspired to know who Christ is, to know who they are and to know the authority they have when they use the name of Jesus, the name above all name.
Broro Now tell me about House of the Living God Ministries, how did it start?
SM House of the Living God Ministries launched in Haiti in November 1991; the prayer was officially opened on February 13, 1992. I started the Ministry with seven people seeking the presence of the Lord; shortly after great miracles took place. There was not enough room for the people. They would even climb trees to attend the prayer. They came from all over the world, Canada, USA, Switzerland and they would go back home with great blessings and testimonies. The story of the Ministry is about the same in Miami. On February 5, 2001, under the inspiration of God I started another prayer with seven people. The same miracles that took place in Haiti started to manifest here in Miami. We saw the people being healed from cancer and all sort of diseases.
Broro What is your long term vision for this Ministry and also for yourself?
SM I can see House of the Living God branching out and touching communities around the world and we have already started with our website. Our primary goal is to bring lost souls into the Kingdom of God and empower Church leaders, equip the saints and strengthen the family cells. I have a vision to open a Bible Training Center for ministers and also an Elementary School in Haiti. My personal goal is to pursue my education, write books, do more teaching on love, faith and the blood of Jesus and also to walk a close walk with Jesus.
Broro In conclusion, what have I not asked that you would like to share?
SM I would like to encourage the brethren to walk in love, the Agape love of God, to love God and love your neighbors as yourselves. Develop faith in God, read the word, meditate the word and finally confess the word. Remain humble and seek the Lord’s face every day through prayer and thanksgiving. Be a better father, a better mom, a better child, a great nurse, a better pastor, a better leader and always remember that you are a CHILD OF THE KING.
