FINANCE
According to Wikipedia, the term “finance”, “ is the study of funds management.[1] The general areas of finance are business finance, personal finance (private finance), and public finance.[2] Finance includes saving money and often includes lending money. The field of finance deals with the concepts of time, money, risk and how they are interrelated. It also deals with how money is spent and budgeted.”
In biblical finance, we need to understand and grasp the concept that God is the source of everything. In the book of Proverbs in the Holy Bible, personified wisdom declares: "I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: that I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures." (Proverbs 8:20-21).
Therefore, the first thing to do in managing one’s finance, rather it is business, personal, and even public, is to acknowledge that God as the Owner of it all. For that reason, we must abide by His financial principles. In Luke 6:38, the Lord Jesus, speaking on giving, said: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give unto your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again."
By being a giver, according to the principles of God, you will open the door to cause unlimited blessings to come your way. The Apostle Paul, because of the generosity of the Christians in Philippi, told them: "My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).
Therefore, if we understand that God is the source of everything, and to receive is to give, or to give is to receive, then we need to follow this principle by giving to God, to people, and even to ourselves. That includes love, time, energy, and talent, and yes, money. And I believe, as we first give to God, He will grant us the wisdom and the grace to properly balance our finance. Proverbs 3:9-10 tell us to, “Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; 10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.”
This is the beginning of a well-balanced, progressive and successful finance.
